VIRTUAL PRODUCTION
XPLOR's Centre for Virtual Production
The first Extended Reality facility in Yorkshire and arguably one of the best-equipped spaces of its kind in the North of England.
Our expert knowledge and sector partnerships have shaped the three Virtual Production Studios at Production Park. Ranging from a fully bespoke 20,000sqft VP facility, a permanent 6,000sqft stage (ideal for vehicle processing) and a cost effective, compact R&D stage for training and colour verification. These stages mesh precisely with the needs of our film, TV, and digital production clients. Engaging broadcast-quality content is delivered effortlessly. Industry-leading technology includes our extensive ROE LED video wall, Unreal Engine environments, and Disguise media servers.
VIRTUAL ART DEPARTMENT & DIGITAL CONTENT DESIGN
Visual design, content creation, plate capture, photogrammetry and object scanning
Our design team can take the lead on all visual design and creative content support requirements for production and research projects including virtual production environments, designing photo realistic imagery, building immersive VR/XR experiences, modelling, rendering and capturing real world objects and point cloud.

Our team can help you with training sets, AI algorithms, labelling solutions and consultancy to develop unique AI solutions for your challenge.
PROTOTYPING
Production of hardware prototypes & one-off products
Our team can undertake one-off projects or hardware prototype development using both mechanical and electronic systems, through a mixture of our rapidly developing in-house prototyping workshop and external partners.
This includes a sophisticated 3D printing capability with large form FDM, Carbon Fibre (CFR) inlaid FDM and Resin SLA printers.
TESTING
Testing & suitability analysis of prototype systems & components
We can assist with suitability testing of prototype systems, subsystems, and component/materials, both electronic and mechanical. Additionally, we can assist with the construction of custom testing jigs and systems to streamline QC testing. Our expert team can also offer analysis of live events orientated products.
Our laboratories include Anechoic Audio and Visual Black Box Spectral analysis facilities for testing HCI devices such as speaker systems, lighting fixtures and Led panels at any scale (including our 40x40m lab).
SOFTWARE CONTROLS & AUTOMATION
Control and safety systems design for machine automation
Our team can assist in the design and implementation of machine automation in both existing and new systems, at a variety of scales. This can range from basic motion systems to more complex CNC processes.
We can also offer safety system design work up to SIL3, either as an addition to an existing system, or integrated into a wider automation and controls project. This can range from simple access control/emergency stop systems to complex modular safety systems and/or collaborative safety systems, for when automated systems and people are working together, or in close proximity.
CONCEPT & PRODUCT DESIGN
Initial concepts & detailed product design
Our team can offer initial concept development on new design projects and full cradle to grave product development, taking an initial sketch through to manufacturable design - straight to 3D from concept.
With backgrounds in mechanical, product, concept, industrial and product design, our technical consultants have a wide range of skills and knowledge to be able to support any project.
